Resume
A short puzzle-ish minimalist metroidvania made in 5 days for Metroidvania Month 30.
Game requires mouse control for a later ability. WASD controls are recommended due to this, but arrow keys are also supported. No rebinding this time, sorry :(
Pause with ESC or P. If you are ever stuck or unable to progress in a room, the room can be reset from the pause menu.

ooh, i like this! got stuck a bit when i couldn't figure out where the second clock was, but i got it in the end!
(did find one bug where sometimes the double swingy platforms would stop responding. I think it's because i was powering one side and then hopped to the other side, so the first side stopped being powered and told the whole thing to stop being powered, but the whole thing should still have been powered bc the second side became in range. idk if that makes sense. it usually fixed itself if i turned off aura and jumped so not gamebreaking really)
Very fun! I only found out about the reset button in the menu after finishing, tried to press R as a reflex and figured that it wasn't part of the game :P
Other than that it's short n sweet, and some neat puzzles once you realize that you can control the way force is applied to some objects. Cheers!
So, while I was trying to guide the beast, I used my first ability and jumped at the same time, which froze the game.
It does NOT help that the game doesn't autosave, so I had to start everything all over again!
Shoot I completely forgot about autosave... I normally have the game autosave after each upgrade but I added the save system last minute this time and it slipped my mind to add that. Really sorry you had to start over, def not intended at all.
As for the initial freeze though, I can't recreate that at all. You should be perfectly able to jump and use the aura ability at the same time. Could you give some more details about what else was happening when it froze? Were the beast or platforms in range when you toggled the ability?
If I remember correctly, the beast was above me and the platform was below me. I was also a little to the right.
Yeah, sorry, I'm not having any success recreating it. If anything like it happens again, could you give a screenshot of what it looks like when it freezes?
As far as saving goes, you can manually save at any time by quitting to the menu - it'll place you back in the exact room you were in when you reload. I know it's a bit hacky to have to do that regularly, but doing it after major milestones should prevent any progress loss. I'll def make sure to fix upgrades not autosaving the game once the ratings period is over.
In case it helps, I also got the freeze (the platform was rising fwiw). Restarted then got the freeze again, both on web. Played the download and made it to the end. Both times it froze right when I cast time.
Thank you, this was helpful, I was able to reproduce the bug now! It seems like its specific to the browser version which is why I didn't catch it - theres some kind of crash related to playing the enemy's sound effects, seems like it's caused by trying to unpause their animation at a specific point. Will see if I can fix this for a postjam update.
